This session equips 21st-century learners and educators with an understanding of the past, present, and future of humanities education by integrating AI and design thinking to enhance creativity and collaboration. As education evolves rapidly, AI serves as an assistive technology that supports brainstorming, generates adaptive feedback, and fosters imaginative problem-solving. Through project-based learning and the IDEO Design-Thinking framework (EDIPT), students explore how a designer’s purpose—akin to an author’s purpose—drives real-world change. By leveraging AI to enhance iteration and meaning-making, this approach fosters purposeful creation, ensuring curriculum development keeps pace with modern learning while preparing students for future challenges.

Esports or Electronic Sports, provides students a place to explore their passion, be competitive, and grow socially/emotionally in the 21st century. Explore the world of scholastic Esports from program conception, to creation, to program success with a public school educator. Learn how it has transformed lives and helped to positively change the social/emotional landscape for so many students.

In this session, we'll use the 'CRE' prompting framework with ChatGPT to effectively assess student work. By providing the assignment criteria, assessment rubric, and student samples, we'll guide ChatGPT to generate individualized, actionable feedback that supports student growth. This approach not only streamlines grading but also helps educators provide more consistent and meaningful insights—giving students the guidance they need to improve their writing.
