As a librarian and a technology integrator we have spent the year exploring how to incorporate AI in a way that helps students think about media literacy anew. With AI being an everchanging technology teachers need to approach the topic with a flexible mindset. Our goal is for students to be able to successfully navigate the technology and critically think about its application. In this session we will share the lessons we have done with students and the workshops we have led with teachers. Participants will walk away with lesson ideas and new teacher tools to add to their repitoire.

From drafting dramatic “break-up text” messages to engaging in conversations with rulers of the past, students deepened their understanding of history through immersive experiences. This session will equip educators with the knowledge and skills to effectively integrate AI into their writing curriculum to improve student engagement, critical thinking, and writing proficiency.
